Clarice hesitated. Her brother put a hand on her shoulder. "We were going to rob the place anyways. It can't hurt."
Looking sour, Clarice said, "I'm sorry I knocked you out."
She didn't really sound like she meant it. Her brother gave an ingratiating that's-probably-the-best-we're-going-to-get smile to the burglar.
