[ this id sometimes shows up when talking tech or acknowledging certain kinds of post on the omega-network. the name attached to it is 'Rider' and as far as anyone knows, he was from another country - Japan being the general consensus - and semi-retired from the life though not above to help out with technical problems or even get involved in a battle. he never displays any special powers, but his technical skills were almost magical. ]

odd that so many past names have been reappearing while others make demands of people
maybe it's the weather or just another cycle of the world moving from one end to the next
but i am curious
someone brought up the question what makes a hero
there were as many answers as there are caped heroes and each one particularly fits in with what they are known for
so i wish to ask another question along those lines, especially since we are seeing the contest set up by one 'slade' asking us to preform like so much monkeys
so
what do you fight for? what drives you to be a hero?

what if the weak are the villains trying to find some way to attack the strong?
what is your personal reason why, not what is the rhetoric of all heroes

There's a slight pause, almost as if she's gathering her thoughts for some kind of serious speech.

"My heart BURNS at the sight of injustice! My fists TREMBLE! And when the people CRY OUT for a HERO, I SHALL BE THERE, AND MY WAR CRY SHALL SHAKE THE VERY HEAVENS!"

...nope, nothing serious about that speech.

That is the same thing I hear from others. Almost as if it is rehearsed, passed down from one cape to another. I knew a man who fought to preserve smiles, another who fought so others do not need to bloody their hands. You talk of justice but does that mean you wish to up hold the laws or do you wish to up hold morals?

There is. Justice does not necessarily get along with laws. Justice would mean that someone who has harmed another gets the same amount of harm in return, but law says you do not harm the attacker until it is proven that they indeed are the attacker.

Morals follow the path of justice while law follows the path of the majority consensus.

Sometimes justice can sound like that because in a way, there is some revenge in a hero's mind. Someone was hurt once and the hero wished for no one else to be hurt like that or something they saw promotes them to prevent that from ever happening again.

I suppose that justice can be found outside of that, but it is a rare thing to see.
