[Posted to Parley's rumblr account. No association with Mystery Lass. If you look at older posts, it's all just more of her talking about her life like a normal teenage girl might do.]

Well things have certainly been busy for me. I haven't had a chance to update here since I moved to America! (Sorry readers if you thought I had been eaten by wolves.) I'm staying with some friends of the family, the Myoudouins, in Venture City. They own this big kinda Japanese style Dojo and are all really serious about martial arts, it's actually pretty cool. Apparently the Dojo Master was really tight with my dad back in the day. He has two sons, Itsuki and Satsuki. Satsuki is sick and I don't see him around very often, but they both seem really chill, so that's cool.

My room here is weird. It's got those rectangular mats covering the floor that I can't remember the name of, and a futon instead of a proper bed. I've done what I can, though.

[Included is a selfie of Parley in her room. You can see the tatami mat floor in a few places, but by now she's got it covered in stuff. Comic books, regular books, clothes, video games, and all the other detritus that a person in the 21st century comes with. The walls have been coated with posters, mostly of female characters from movies and games looking cool. The only thing that might seem unusual is the sword leaning against the wall (in a scabbard), next to a fencing mask.]

As weird as it is to say it, I'm looking forwards to the school year. I'm having fun, but I don't really know that many people here.

So far America is really weird though. I haven't seen a single bald eagle (Itsuki said he saw one the other day, but I do not believe him.), nor have I been involved in any gunfights or highway chases. Hollywood has much to answer for. I HAVE almost been hit by cars twice now, though, because they all drive on the wrong side of the road! I've been warned that it's Independence Day (Or as we call it back home, "Ungrateful Day" ^_^), and that everyone is going to be a little flag crazy today. Hopefully I won't accidentally order tea instead of coffee and get mobbed. Wish me luck!

Okay that's all for now. This is Parley the great, signing off!

Mind, there's a lot of complexity there, and they've grown to be very reliable allies of Britain.

The whole "We signed a treaty and then pretended we didn't" thing between 1778 and 1815 certainly wasn't one of our brightest moments...

Hrm. Fair enough. Though without knowing your past, you're bound to repeat it.

Mind, that whole thing was only a big part of all that went on.

The fact that the British aristocracy had a thing for making fun of rich colonials trying to keep up with fashion didn't help.

Not joking.

More has been started on less, sadly.

And now you're closer to understanding some of the crazies here in Venture.

It wouldn't be the strangest origin story ever.

Really, no, it wouldn't.
