Something is definitely off about Hanasaki Tsubomi today. For one, she skipped out on helping her grandmother today, and most likely several other appointments with friends that day. She'd also ignored calls from friends, walked into Fairy Drop and loudly insulted the taste of everyone in it, and had a loud shouting match with her parents that could be heard from the street.

Where was she now? In the park, committing the most heinous of offenses: walking on a patch of grass that had a "do not walk on grass" sign. Of course, before that, she'd blatantly cut through a patch of flowers and trod all over them, which was definitely strange for her.

You might just catch her as she's kicking a small puppy out of her way, Chypre following behind her worriedly.

So I realized something today. I'm sick and tired of feeling nervous against other people.

You try to be a good girl and change, but all you're really doing is just letting them walk all over you! I'm done letting people do that from now on! From here on, Cure Blossom looks out for herself!

"Oh sure, Erika Kurumi is going to give me criticism about acting weird," Tsubomi replied, crossing her arms.

"Hey, what's that supposed to mean?" Because that's what's important here, Erika.

"Weren't you the one who couldn't get anyone in her club before I came along?" Tsubomi said with a smirk. "And which of us is the one always acting out, hm?"

"Tsubomi, what's gotten into you? You're normally a really nice person, but now you're being kind of a jerk!"

[blossominghero]

"So what if I am?" Tsubomi replied, hands on her hips. "What are you going to do about it, huh? Throw a tantrum like you always do?"

After a moment of silence, Erika turns around in a huff.

"I'll see you again when you're done being weird. I'm going home."

[blossominghero]

Tsubomi reaches out to grab her by the shoulder, holding her back.

"Oh, you're just going to run away? Maybe you really are just a worse version of your sister!"

"What do you want from me?!" Erika's mad now. Good job, you struck a nerve.

"If you're trying to pick a fight with me, then just get it over with and hit me or something! Otherwise, leave me alone!"

Tsubomi paused, and stared at Erika for a moment.

... Then, she drew her hand back, and swung her palm at Erika's face with the intent to slap her.

And slap she does. Erika staggers back a step or two, surprised by the force of it, but doesn't hit back.

"There. Are you satisfied yet?"

"... No. No I'm not."

She took out her heart perfume, as well as her heart seed. Chypre's eyes widened.

"Tsubomi, don't-"

"Shut up!" Tsubomi snapped. "This has been a long time coming! Precure, open my heart...!"

There was a flash of light, and a moment later...

... well now, that wasn't the usual Cure Blossom standing there.

"So that's how it is, is it? Well, if you want a fight that bad, it would be cruel of me not to give it to you!"

"Precure, open my heart!"

Tsubomi just grinned wickedly, before launching herself at Erika. A pink energy blade formed at the end of her hand as she swiped it at the other Precure.

That's a new one! Already on the defensive, Erika jumps back several times to open some space between them.

"Mariiine... SHOOT!" That's some scattered magic shots, but... her heart's not really in it.

[blossominghero]

Those magical shots? Blossom ended up cutting through them with her blade, continuing on and attempting to deliver a kick to Marine's head.

And succeeding! Marine goes sailing across the park.

"Blossom, hang on! Why are you suddenly a way stronger Cure than you are normally?!"

[blossominghero]

"That's what you're focusing on?!" Blossom laughed. "You really are an idiot! I can't believe I was ever friends with you!"

Grinning wickedly, she gathered power in her fist and shot forward. "BLOSSOM IMPACT!" she cried as she swung at Marine.

Erika puts a hand on Tsubomi's shoulder and vaults over her just as the attack hits, the explosion of energy missing by a hair.

It's a perfect opening - Cure Marine spins around and slams a fist towards her enemy...

...and stops, an inch short of Blossom's face. When it really counted, she couldn't follow through.

Blossom too, stops, staring, wide eyed at Marine.

"... Erika..." she said, blinking several times.

Then, she grinned, again, and pressed her hands forward against the other Cure's stomach.

"Blossom... SHOOT!" she cried, the power welling up against her hands before exploding outward.

And that's a direct hit.

Marine goes flying, bounces off a building, then hits the ground. She doesn't seem like she'll be getting up just now.

Blossom laughed.

She laughed in a way that utterly, completely, not Tsubomi.

Cackling, she reformed her blade and flew forward, intent on finishing Marine off.

There's suddenly the faint sensation of a breeze, and in the next moment, another figure is beside Blossom. It's... Moonlight, but not quite, all too similarly as different as Blossom herself has become.

"Why waste your strength on something so pathetic?"

Erika struggles halfway back up, no loner transformed, but is stunned by what she sees.

"No way... Moonlight, too?!"

Tsubomi stopped cold, and spun around, eyes wide. Then, she frowned.

"But Moonlight...!" she exclaimed. "I have to prove I'm tough! That I'm nothing like what I used to be...!"
