[Rogue's Gallery]

[ Eas has been in town for a few days, and she's been spending most of it getting a feel for the area. Spots to target, local customs... Ugh, local customs. So much cheer and good will around, it's enough to make her sick. She's currently at the counter in the Rogue's Gallery, making further plans to her itinerary with the help of a tablet and an acceptable pub lunch. Just because she has to work with the likes of Stinkor doesn't mean she has to work where she can smell him.

Where to make her big debut? The bank? ...No, too obvious. Burger Shack? ...No, too... Westar. The high school? ...Not in summer. Of course, there's a more efficient way to get the answers she's looking for. She looks over at the nearest fellow suspicious character. Do they look like they'd know anything about the business of chaos and wicked deeds? And more importantly, do they look like they'd start trouble if she went up and asked? ]

[Venture Park]

[ Word has it that this is a popular spot for picnics and villain attacks alike. Seeing the local heroes fight in person would be a good move before starting off in her own campaign. And who knows, maybe she'll be able to tail one back to their base. ~~Eas~~ Setsuna can be found messing around with a deck of Tarot cards in the shade - if she wants to blend in, she'll need to take up an Earth hobby or two. ]

[Swift, sometimes. Competent? Occasionally. Decisive? Noooot so much.

Okay, she's breathing, she's just fainted. Head bump, but from six feet... Standard first aid would have her healing up quickly, but conveniently, Sonicheart was dressed for her superhero part right now.]

... Okay, no CPR needed. This oughta help.

[Quickly, Sonicheart opened her palms towards Eas, focusing one of the more useful tricks she had with her powers. Eas heard a single, almost musical note, seemingly coming from Lori's left palm... And another, hard to tell apart, from her right palm. The more important sensation she might feel, though, is a peaceful sensation - and less pain in her body in general.]

I'm a healer, you're going to be okay.

[ She handled that so easily, Eas is almost offended. Scratch the almost, she's totally offended. So this is a hero in person, she's so nice it's sickening. People don't just act like that; it's weird and unfamiliar and whether it's an act or not, she's going to take advantage of it as much as she can. She opens her eyes, looking as frightened and uncertain as possible. ]

My head... what happened?

[Okay, she's back up and waking up. Both good signs.]

You just fainted suddenly. I guess cars careening through this park is kind of unusual... Even for Venture.

Are you all right?

[Of course, Eas didn't see the stress and panicked trying to remember first aid alongside how to use Lori's powers that just occurred; to Lori, this was never easy. Especially since she wasn't someone who liked to get press attention.

Quickly, she glanced over; okay, the teenager who was stupid enough to try and race the cops was okay, and the police had caught him on foot. Case handed over, more or less. She can focus on what looked to be the only medical case of this incident now. Fine by her.]

[ Is she expected to be all right? She has no idea if the... whatever it is... would have worked on someone who was actually hurt. Better play it safe, then. She looks up at Sonicheart, still with her best disoriented act on. ]

...I think so? Everything happened so fast, and I'd never seen anything like it before I moved to Venture City, and... I suppose it was just too much all of a sudden.

[ At least half of that statement was technically the truth. ~~It's a new record!~~ ]

Eh. Things like that happen occasionally around here. It's why we Omegafriends do our thing, you know?

[ It'll be more than occasional once she's unleashed her full power, you ignorant fool. Ohohoho. ]

I suppose I'll just have to... get used to it?

...Would you kindly give me a hand up? I still feel a little dizzy.

[Lori, fortunately, is clueless about that, as she reached a hand out. This was just a civilian, she could help her, nothing was wrong, her paranoia was entirely unfounded she was sure. It usually was. ~~Until it wasn't.~~]

R-right.

[ Setsuna manages to get upright with Lori's assistance... then staggers again, falling right into her. This would probably be a good chance to try stealing her Omegawatch, but there's no need to move that early and spoil her chance at rapport. ]

Oh! Sorry, I guess I'm more out of it than I thought.

[Lori managed to catch Setsuna and remain standing.]

I-it's all right! Do you need to get to a hospital?

[ Being underestimated is surprisingly powerful. She could punch Sonicheart square in the nose at point blank and she wouldn't even see it coming. Again, not that she would. But knowing she could is really satisfying. ]

Oh, no, I don't want to put you to all that trouble! I'm sure you have important Omegafriends business to take care of.

[Lori simply doesn't have a good eye for not trusting people yet...]

Not especially. There's enough of us right now and it's quiet enough that I can take a few minutes to make sure you're well. My healing powers are pretty good, but a further checkup is appropriate.

[ Setsuna is perfectly trustworthy. Just look at those big shimmery doe eyes. ]

Well... if you're sure you don't mind, um...

...I don't think I ever got your name in the confusion. I'm Setsuna Higashi.

[ The exchange of information is a tradition among people of any time or place. Information is an invaluable resource when it comes to people you intend to face in combat sooner or later. ]

[Lori blinked a couple times, before smiling.]

Call me Sonicheart.

[That... Isn't much to go on...]

[ That's juuust fine. It gives Setsuna the chance to steer the conversation. ]

Sonicheart? That's a strange name for a healer.

...Ah, but you also ran by very quickly, and did something to that car to make it skid like that...

[ Smiling is also a traditional social technique. ]

My powers are sound-based as a whole. Healing's just one of the effects I've developed more. I'm sure that says something about me.

[... Besides that she's a goody-two-shoes.]

[ You don't need to know anything about her powers to know that. ]

Healing with sound? If you asked, I'd say it makes you seem like a creative and flexible person.

[ That compliment wasn't a lie for once! What she's not saying is that Sonicheart could be a serious threat if she wasn't so naive. ]

Something like that. I've got some other tricks, for sure...

[Like popping tires to force a car to a stop. Nasty trick there.]

Erm, let's get you to the hospital first. I... Don't exactly have a car nearby. Are you okay to walk?

[ She could probably sucker her into carrying her all the way over, what a total chump, this is great. On foot would give her more time to slither past this girl's defenses. ]

If I'm not, we'll find out.

[ Setsuna laughs, just a little bit rueful and a little bit embarrassed. She's right back to the completely fake responses instead of the mostly fake responses. ]

R... Right. This way, then, please.

[Lori motions in a direction, wanting to be in a position where she can watch 'Setsuna' more carefully, in case she trips or something. It's easier to reflexively handle things you see, after all...]
