Gwen easily sneaked in through the window and changed cloths into her normal 'Gwen Tennyson' attire. Her mom had told her that she had to be home early because they wanted to have some friends over for dinner. When she came down the stairs and was greeted by her aunt and uncle she could have almost dropped her face in her hands. After the encounter with Ben she was sure the last place he wanted to be was in her house. She looked around reflexively. Where was he anyway?

"Well, then I guess you're not getting help." It's a lie. She'd help him anyway.

Ben clutched dramatically at his chest. "And here I thought that superheroes were supposed to be kind and giving souls. Lucky Girl, you've shattered my faith."

"Who said that extended to family?" She's teasing, mostly.

[omnitrixter]

"You are the meanest superhero ever," Ben teased.

[thesmartone]

"I don't know." She quipped back; "Ben Ten seems pretty mean. He didn't even ask for Lucky Girl's autograph."

[omnitrixter]

"That's because Ben 10 was too busy freaking out over the fact that the girl he had a cru--I mean that one of his personal heroes turned out to be his dweeby cousin," Ben said, blushing as he looked away.

So freaking embarrassing.

She caught that, she totally caught that. "You had a crush on me?" No, seriously? That's gross!

[omnitrixter]

And time for the classic Ben Tennyson wail and flail.

"I didn't know she was you, okay?! Pretty superhero about my age who kicks a lot of butt? Who wouldn't get a crush?!"

"Pretty much all of Venture City." At least not the one guy she would have loved to have gotten a crush on her. "You don't have a crush on me anymore right? Because that would be gross."

[omnitrixter]

"Gwen, I think you need to get out more."

Seriously, didn't she realize how many guys out there drooled over Lucky Girl?

And then more wailing and flailing. "No! I mean, jeez, that'd be seriously gross! It's one reason I flipped out back there! I just...didn't want to say anything."

Because he was humiliated and disturbed by the fact that he hadn't realized it was the dweeb all along.

Really Ben, she's out every night as Lucky Girl trying to keep the streets clean. "Good." Because she loves you Ben, but not like that.

[omnitrixter]

Not what he meant, Gwen, and you know it.

"Yeah. Good." Ben shoved his hands in his jeans pockets. Now he just had to figure out what to do with his Lucky Girl stuff. It'd bring back the creepy memory that he'd been crushing on his cousin.

Good to know she could help him get rid of some of his dolls. She pauses for a few moments before smirking.

"At least you didn't try to kiss me." She totally made a Star Battles reference.

[omnitrixter]

Action figures, not dolls! And no way is he getting rid of those! They're collectibles!

"No, I just thought you were hitting on me and going to give me your number," he grumbled, shoving his hands in his pockets.

[thesmartone]

"You were half right." She wasn't going to admit to him that she thought he'd been sweet.

[omnitrixter]

"Half right and super creepy. Ugh." Ben buried his face in his hands.

[thesmartone]

"You weren't creepy. You were Ben, who is actually kind of charming sometimes." Spoken from a cousin's perspective of course.

[omnitrixter]

"Wait...you actually thought I was charming?" Ben asked, looking at his cousin in disbelief.

Because, really, he'd made an idiot out of himself.

[thesmartone]

"Yeah, it was sweet." And it was. Ben had been awkward and sweet. Too bad he was her cousin - not that she's thinking this.

[omnitrixter]

"...Thanks," he said awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck.

Though why couldn't a girl not related to him notice something like that? Ugh. His life sucked.

"C'mon. Let's get some food before my stomach starts eating me from the inside out."

"I think my mom actually cooked normal food." She gets up, making her way to the door.

[omnitrixter]

"Real food!" Ben cheered, pumping his fists in the air. "Mom's on a vegan kick right now, and it's driving me bonkers."

[thesmartone]

"Wasn't she into wheat grass the last time you were over?" Or was that gluten free? She can't remember.

[omnitrixter]

"Gluten free. At least I liked wheatgrass," he said with a groan. "But going completely without bread? Stinks. Fortunately, Mom decided gluten free was too much of a hassle."

"I still don't understand how grandpa Max's weird food is better then your mom's cooking."
