The city cat on the prowl.
A. Reporting in.
Coming in late to a meeting probably didn't look good for Mat, since the people who had access to his personal files apparently didn't look too highly on the young felid. He saunters in ten minutes late, and while he didn't say anything about why he was late, at least it was a good cause. Two different badguys announcing foul intentions? It was a good reason to be late, right?
Apparently not, since after they had him watch an educational reel that nearly rendered him comatose from the boredom, they made him wait. Then questions, questions, and more questions, and calibrated his omega watch so he'd have access to the appropriate resources in the base. Once he was finally released, they told him just wait. When they find him a mentor, they'd let him know. Hopefully it wouldn't be too long, all he had to do was keep his omegawatch on to receive messages!
With all that done with though, he hopped on an elevator and headed back up to the surface to enjoy his afternoon.
B.Room romp.
The best thing about cities like these is that they always have a neighborhood with low lying buildings. The boarding house that Mat lived in was in such a place, and now that he was free for the evening he could run wild for a while. From building to building he leapt, vaulting over air conditioning systems and other obstacles, all just for the thrill of running and feeling the wind in his face.
As he came closer to the greater downtown area, and the buildings climbed in height, he jumped to the next building and landed on a window sill, from there climbing to the top and surveying the surroundings. Anything going on that wasn't already being dealt with?

There's a young girl in the elevator when Mat gets into it, and the reaction she has to his entrance is about what you'd expect when you see a lion get into an elevator -- which is to say wide-eyed shock and perhaps more than a little terror. You... might want to reassure her quickly.
A
He exhaled with a rumble through his throat and took a seat, not confident enough to break the ice, but he wasn't exactly moving close to her or trying to eat her.
When he looked at her, he blinked slowly. Sort of a passive way of saying hello.
Wow, I forgot the no swearing rule. Gotta remember to catch myself.
"Uh...uhhhhm, do you... understand me?" she asks at length.
I don't think it's a big deal unless you say it IC. I thought it was just a prose reaction.
Even though his mouth was open, he didn't really articulate anything he said, or was about to say, his mouth only moving slightly with the consonants.
"Sorry I scared you. I get that a lot."
Still, gotta get in the habit.
It's okay.

"Well, you know. Like someone who everyone knows. A big shot who knows his stuff or something."

"Yuh huh."

He pulled a small crystal sphere from one of his pockets. "Alright, GaoWolf, we've got work to do." The crystal erupted in a flash of light and resolved itself into a robot wolf roughly the same size as a normal, non-robotic wolf. The wolf gave Shirogane a yip, and it set out after the lion Shirogane had spotted. Mat's going to find himself with some unusual four-legged company very soon if he's not careful.
B
And he just barely jumps out of the way of the incoming wolf as it bounds towards him out of nowhere. Mat gets out of the way, hissnarling at the thing and moving to jump onto a water tower on this particular building.

He's shortly joined on the rooftop by Shirogane now that the human had a chance to transform into his spandex-clad, helmet-wearing heroic guise. "Good work, GaoWolf." He stands there for a moment, regarding the lion with a hand on his hip. "I wonder if the zoo's lost anything lately."
no subject
"Yes! Good work, robomutt. Good work running a kid up a tree!" He decides to rest on the metal walk around he was standing on.
"I didn't know Zoo's carried black lions. Or talking ones."

GaoWolf sat next to Shirogane and looked about as irritated as a robotic wolf could possibly look. Mutt? Hmph.
no subject
And yes. Mutt. If you're going to chase him around like a stupid dog, then you're a mutt.

GaoWolf nods in agreement. See? They were just trying to do the right thing and be heroes.

"I thought the clothes would help." He was wearing a pair of long shorts if nothing else.
He looks down at Gaowolf, huffing slightly. Okay. Okay. You are forgiven. No harm no foul.
"Nobody told me I'd have to advertise what side I was on. That's kinda dangerous."
no subject
Not that he really had anything like that going. There was a definite theme going there with the wolf matching Shirogane's helmet and outfit, but that was about it.

The metallic scent made him want to sneeze.

GaoWolf sniffed back, though he didn't seem bothered by the smell of lion one way or another.

He puts a little distance between himself and Gaowolf and starts to head over to the edge.
"I'm supposed to be a good guy."
