[Disclaimer: Aya friends people pretty easily. If you go to VHS and have talked to her at least once while there, odds are good that you're on her flist.]
Friends! Dear compatriots! I ask for your participation in a simple matter.
As you may know, the time of my 18th birthday is drawing near. Perhaps by coincidence, or perhaps in celebration of this fortuitous event, or perhaps because it's Labor Day, AMC is showing a once-in-a-lifetime event: A marathon of every American movie about ninjas made during the 1990s. All of them, no matter how good or bad. Chronological order, straight from Ninjas of New York to Revenge of the Ninja Queens.
Naturally, to allow such an event to pass us by without mocking the bejeesus out of it would be an affront to everything that our glorious nation stands for. Accordingly, I will be holding a birthday party this Sunday. If you can see this and feel like coming, congratulations! You are invited.
The marathon runs until like 2 in the morning, and I intend to be there for the whole thing. Those who are willing and able may stay with us until morning. By parental decree, boys must leave by midnight.
Kindly RSVP so that I know how many people to expect!

Omegafriends! Villains! Other people of the night! There is a new and highly suspicious-looking character about.
Exploring the city, by shadow and by rooftop, at remarkable speed, is a mysterious caped figure in black, her face obscured by a befeathered masquerade mask. She doesn't seem to have any particular obvious goals or destinations - just sneaking around and seeing how well she can navigate the city with her newly-awakened powers.
What sort of strange characters will she cross paths with during the night? That is for you, the readers, to decide!

Action
... Certainly, it couldn't be the kind technologically-powered healer raising a hand and shattering the glass window on an electronics shop, could it??? No way the redhead hero had gone bad!
... Right?]

While Lori is breaking in, a shadowy figure shows up behind her. Quite suddenly.]
Tsk tsk tsk. Hardly heroic behavior, that.

Something was definitely wrong.]
This unit is unconcerned with such concepts. It will complete its assigned objective.
[And the near-monotone speech and word choice only makes the issue more obvious.]
Leave, or fight. This unit will fulfill its objective regardless.

[And Lori calmly stepped through the window into the store, starting to grab various parts and toss them in a bag if Aya didn't move to stop her.]

If I'm a hero, would this be my cue to save the day?

[Lori raises one hand, as if about to attack...]

[And then a shockwave of energy launched from Lori's hand.]
Drop the part.

[There is a blur of movement, and Aya ends up on the far side of the store, albeit pretty badly off-balance. The shockwave whiffs into a shelf of cell phones.]
Why don't we take this outside? I don't want to get sued for merchandise loss on my first hero fight.

You are free to leave if you wish. You are not this unit's target.

[Aya is just sort of casually blocking the exit right now. Take your time!]

[After some tense staring and loading, Lori stares down Aya.]
If, however, you persist in blocking the exit...
[Lori clasps her bag shut, and starts to hover.]
Then you will be dealt with.
Action
[She's just kind of sitting on the edge of a building, casing the joint across the street. Not that she's making it particularly obvious that she's doing so]

[The mysterious figure nonchalantly shows up on the rooftop, for cool super conversations.]
There's a lot more people hanging out mysteriously at night than I thought there would be.
no subject
No kidding. Maybe I should move to somewhere less crowded.
... nice mask. [The sarcasm is rather thick on the last statement]

So, hero or villain?

...
You can't just ask like that. You're supposed to say which one you are first. You new or something?
