Haunted House! (Farm?)... and other stuff

With Halloween coming up, it's time for Mayfield Dairy's Haunted Farm experience. It's fun for all involved!

Of course, we'll be selling some of our special seasonal products, like our limited pumpkin spice eggnog! Be sure to stop by!

[Action1, for those that go to Mayfield Dairy Haunted Farm]

[The Mayfield Dairy is decorated for Halloween antics! Be prepared to be spooked, and then visit the small shop manned by Melanie to purchase some delicious farm products!]

[The haunted farm experience is surprisingly scary this time, unlike last year... it's almost as if it has actual real ghosts in it this time! (spoilers: it does)]

[Melanie, on the other hand... has on a simple white sheet with eye holes in it. A simple ghost costume while she cheerfully sells wares from the dairy.]

[Action2, locked to Evangeline]

[Sometime late at night, inside a shack on the Mayfield Dairy grounds, a summoning circle has apparently been drawn, accompanied by various occult paraphernalia. She had her (copy of) the Necronomicon nearby, apparently enacting a summoning ritual.]

[... for some reason, there was a bowl of milk in the circle. It was just now when she finally finished her summoning chant...]

[Action3, locked to Elise]

[Same as the third prompt, but no milk. Yes I got a little lazy...]

[Needless to say, Evangeline - one of Melanie's classmates - is NOT who Melanie likely expected to see pop up in the circle. She looked more than a bit annoyed.]

Who dares summon me? ... And leaves a bowl of milk on the ground next to me???

[Yes, Melanie did not expect a vampire to answer this call...]

[The Necronomicon entry she had it turned to was what she thought was for a demonic kitty...]

I would politely ask you to release me so you can figure out what you did wrong with the ritual before you invoke my wrath.

I... haven't looked up how to release anything yet...

Did you really need to mention your wrath...? Doesn't that kind of negate any intended politeness?

[At least she was picking up (the copy of) the necronomicon so she could find the release spell...]

[Course, Evangeline could just tell Melanie to scuff the circle to break it, too]

... What.

I'm not sure whether to be impressed that you summoned someone as powerful as me on the first try, or depressed that you're new enough to not know that you just scuff the circle to break it.

If you want to try and reuse the symbols - not recommended - you set straw across it and hope whatever's inside doesn't scuff it in anger.

But... why did the entry talk about summoning some Kitty if it summoned you...?

I'm not answering that until I've found him and beaten the hell out of him.

[Not that Melanie could stop Evangeline now that she broke the circle, anyway. Unless she tried necromancy on a vampire but she didn't exactly have a reason to do that now...]

... Pretty impressive, managing to summon me, though.

But watch out for summoning texts using metaphors, nicknames, and that sort of thing. It's often a trick on the summoner, as you have just run into.

[Well, Elise was hopefully not who was supposed to show up in the summoning circle, but for whatever reason, here she was.

U-uhm...

[A-again, she got what she didn't expect...]

... Elise?

... You don't look like a demonic snake.

[Well, then again, there was that time earlier........... but she thought that was just a costume? But either way, there was something seriously wrong with her Necronomicon... or maybe she just really messed up]

I-I'm really not a demonic snake!

[SHe looked around. Where was she, what was going on?!]

[Really, what did she do wrong? She'd have to take a careful look at the book later, but for now, leaving Elise like this would just be mean]

[Thankfully, armed with the knowledge of the previous summoning incident, she knew what to do immediately. She scraped the summoning circle to break it, thus freeing Elise from the confinement of the magic]

A-are you trying to kidnap me?!

[As Elise had no idea about demonic summoning, she didn't know about summining circles, and thus had no idea what breaking the summoning circle even did. Or what it had done previously!]

N-no! I wasn't!

This was an accident! I was trying to summon a snake!

...Why am I here?

I... must have done something wrong... and somehow summoned you instead...

C-can normal people be summoned? I-I shouldn't be here, I'm not a demon...

... Wait, are you sure you're normal?

I-I'm a schoolgirl, so, uhm, that's plenty normal...? I think?
I-I'm sorry!

[Okay, she could point out what she knew about Elise, but she had a feeling that Elise's reaction would just make her feel bad]

... Anyway, I don't... suppose you live anywhere near Mayfield Dairy?

[It was probably a bit late to just go walking home... at least, she was pretty sure Elise didn't have a driver's license. For that matter, she wouldn't have her car either for obvious reasons...]
