[For those watching select channels, an advertisement appears on TV. The shot opens on an office. The tall chair on the other side of the desk is turn around, hiding the person in it from view. There is some soft music in the background as someone starts to speak.]

[The number and address flash across the screen. The chair turns around to show a cat person actually being the one sitting in the chair.]

[The logo flashes again, with the number and address before the advertisement comes to a close.]

[Augustus is in the office. The advertisement is debuting today. Now it is only a matter of time before new cases some in, hopefully. The cat boy is bored. No leads or interesting cases in weeks now. There have been things about here and there but nothing the feline is wanting to get into just yet. Better to sit back and see how they play out. Though he is willing to take anything that walks through that door at this rate.]

[Vimes is glaring at his TV. "When the police just can't get the job done" is it?]

[There is also an ad in the paper today and in several magazines. Might even be a billboard out there somewhere. Someone is starting an advertisement campaign.]

[Contemplating whether or not you can arrest someone for trying too hard.]

That ad is a little hard on the police don't you think?

[Tails is sitting in a chair beside the file cabinet, reading the newest issue of a technology magazine. There's an ad there too and he's just read it.]

They can't stop super villains and they can't always handle their case load. I'm being honest. I can do things they can't. Nothing wrong with that.

[Augustus just smirks and runs around in his chair. He grabs the Rubik's cube off his desk and starts to fiddle with it as he spins slowly.]

I don't think most people can stop a supervillain. But you could be a little less harsh in trying to be honest.

Honestly can be harsh. I'm not going to sugar coat it. Besides, the best way to get the attention of the people is to show them I'm better than my competition.

[It's not about not sugarcoating, it's about using tact. Tails clearly has more to say on the matter, but he just turns the page.]

[Augustus is quiet for a moment. He takes out a file and starts reading it.]

So then, why so interested in my advertising campaign? Business is good for us. I have to pay for your schooling somehow.

[Peacock doesn't bother with trivial things like "calling ahead" or "knocking". Instead, she just kicks the door to Augustus's office in, nearly booting it off of the hinges. She has important business to attend to and flimsy wooden obstructions will not slow her one bit!]

Yer that detective fella, right? From the ads?

[She remembers, because they came up at least three times between reruns of "Annie: Girl of the Stars".]

I got a little somethin' needs takin' care of.

[The cat boy's ears pin back against his head thanks to the wood cracking noise and it slamming against the wall. Someone is in a hurry. He'll add the repair cost of the door to her bill.]

That's correct. And how my I help you Ms...?

Peacock. Like the bird.

[She pulls up a chair, leans back, and kicks her feet up right on Augustus's desk.]

Was thinkin' ya could keep a private eye on someone for me.

[Augustus leans back in his own chair. Good thing he doesn't much on the desk. He watches Peacock just for a second. She definitely seems strange, then again, he is a talking cat.]

Who?

Scientist fella, name'a Avian.

[She pulls a photo from somewhere behind her back and slides it across the desk. Yep, that sure is a science man.]

Just need ya to keep tabs on him, make sure he doesn't fly the coop, see?

[Augustus looks at the picture carefully. He pockets it and gives her a nod.]

I can do that. Fifty for the rest of the month and a hundred every month you need me to keep an eye on him. Deal?

Call it forty an' seventy five and you got yerself a client, puddy tat!

[Of course she's going to try and haggle this down. Of course.]

[The feline smirks. Well he can't say this is never happened before. At least she seems sensible.]

You know what? Deal. This might be a long job so that will do. What can you tell me about this man though? Anything useful I should know?

["Peacock" and "sensible" are not words you see in the same sentence very often.]

Guy's a shut-in, doesn't get outside the lab much. But he's a real big name-type, so ya shouldn't have a whole heap'a trouble findin' him!

[Perhaps the cat boy is giving her too much credit. Or maybe he does think she's being sensible. Only time will tell.]

And you want to make sure he's staying in one place. And if he tries to move? What do you want me to do?
