Episode 2: Summer School Showdown with Leader One!
Who: The Kid, Black Rock Shooter, The Ice King, Peacock, Darkwing Duck and up to three other heroes
What: Investigating the device that Velasquez found
When: The evening of the 9th
Where: Underneath the Venture City High School Gymnasium
Beneath the Venture High Gymnasium, abandoned for the summer, is a basement. Hidden in a corner of that basement is a trap door, leading down into another basement. A basement.. of evil.
It's actually quite spacious down here, like someone built another gym under the first gym. The trap door opens onto a catwalk near the ceiling of an underground chamber dominated by a device shaped like a radar dish, ten feet tall and covered in blinking lights. Milling about the area below are dozens of evil robots, all bearing the insignia of Dr. Devious's Deviobots. Standing near the device itself is their apparent leader, a robot with a hardhat and a clipboard. The others are armed with giant fists, laser guns, balls on the ends of chains, or other such weaponry, but the leader appears unarmed.
They haven't noticed the approaching team, but it's only a matter of time.

THE APPROACH
What's the plan, team?

He might be nervous about trying to use his powers for for good for the first time, but they're not going to be very successful if they're all worried. He nudges her lightly and puts on his best smile.
"But hey, we're gonna be alright! Those guys don't stand a chance against all us heroes."
no subject
She unsheathes her needle sword. "We can take them all on! It's for the good of everybody after all! ...I think." Okay, yeah, she's nervous, but at least she's eager.

"Just stay on your toes, and we're all going to be just fine."
That might've been directed a bit at himself, as well. He just needs to stay focused.
Re: THE APPROACH
The Kid wasn't used to walking metal, though he had blown up his share of turrets in the day.

Tails landed near Kid. He is pretty used to fighting robots, but what he really wanted was to find and disable the transmitter.
no subject
The Kid figured he would fight all these big bucket of bolts by himself, but hey, others were here. Had to be considerate.

"But it might be best if I lay low until there's an opening."

"It explodes on Impact, so make sure you have some distance before you toss it."

So they've said up a cordon around the gym and are standing around keeping civilians away. Meanwhile Vimes himself is arguing with HQ about the possibility of getting a SWAT team sent in.
no subject
Oops. Policemen. ... Well, maybe they were a little more receptive to heroes here in Venture City than they'd been in St. Canard. And less critical of his hat, to boot. He strode up confidently.
"You can relax, now, officers. Darkwing Duck is on the case."
no subject
Vimes looked up from the radio. "Right. Sure. Who the heck is Darkwing Duck?"
Before anyone could answer, he added on "If you just say 'I am!' I am going to get cross."
no subject
Shooter hadn't signed up expecting this. It's one thing to know you're about to go up against a ton of robots and another thing entirely to actually see them and know you're going to have to attack.
She swallows, hard. Time to try and be cool. ]
S--so, ahaha! Th--that's who we're takin' down, huh? Anyone got a plan? A--anyone?
no subject
"We should focus on the transmitter, first and foremost.", he says. "The robots are probably just here to guard it, so some of us should get their attention first. Then the others can deal with the machine while they're distracted!"
"I can help with the robots." he offers.
no subject
[ she punches the palm of her hand and gives him a shaky grin. ]
Pow, you get it? Or I could use my sword if you need me to get in close!
no subject
Whatever works best! We might want to steer clear of each other in the fray. My powers can be a bit unwieldy... and I don't really want to get in the way of a cannon!
