Video - 1st Artifact
[The feed reveals an older looking gentleman with blue skin and white hair. His clothes are shabby and he’s wearing a large travelling backpack. If you listen, you can hear the sound of the occasional car passing by. Looks like he’s somewhere on the outskirts of the city.]
Ah, good, it’s working! Hello, I’m.. mm, well, I’ll get to that in a second.
I’m not an Omega Friend, first of all. I’m sort of on a.. “trial period”, I guess you could say... I don’t actually have full control of my powers yet. But that’s why I came here! I’m going to be studying and practicing magic, and I have a better chance learning here than anywhere else! I’m hoping that one day I can join you all in making this city- and the world- a safer place!
Until then... I’m going to be doing the best I can. My name is Simon, but most people know of me as the Ice King.
[He's got a collection of the news clippings and video footage of himself. He knows he's got some slight infamy as a villain.]
I’d prefer not to get into the details right now, but my powers tend to make me lose control of myself.. I believe that it can be harnessed, somehow, but I'll try to keep out of everyone's way until I can get the hang of it. I apologize in advance if I ever do or say anything out of line before that.
[Oof. Not the best first impression, but he's gotta be honest about all of this.]
You can reach me on my guest watch if you have any questions or concerns! I'll answer what I can.

There might be a tinge of confusion in Simon's tone. He lives and breathes ancient cultures, and he's never heard of Caeldonia. Still, even if the Kid is lying, there's probably a good reason for it. He shouldn't jump to conclusions.
"As I mentioned before, let me know if you ever need any help with anything. Technology or otherwise! It's the least I can do."
Re: Audio
"Well, I could a lot of help with most of the computer and electronic tech. If you would be willing to come to my place, I could share some Cael artifacts with you and you could help me figure out the technology I'm not used to."
Audio
You had him at artifacts.
"Just tell me the address," he says, pulling a map out of a pocket in his pack. "And I should be there in a few minutes or so."
Text
"Meet me in the back."

Re: Action
To the right far wall was most of the kid's armory. His armor was sitting there. We had patched that thing together so many times, looked more like a hunk of scrap than a real piece of armor at this point. Other weapons, some of them like the Army Carbine or Dueling Slingers might look familiar to those into American old Western Paraphernalia, but stuff like the Fang Repeater and Galleon Mortar didn't look like their Earth counterparts in the least.
The walls themselves were lined with different artifacts. The gramaphone and watch might look right, but the kid's marshall badge was hung in a case and didn't look anything like in Earth. Then there was the pictures of the God's on the wall, though only Pyth the bull had anything dedicated to him. A shield hung below the bull's shrine and a plush doll of him sat on top of it. The Gods were mostly undone as far as the Kid was concerned but he preserved their pictures and names, but Pyth had given him a shield that nothing could break. Least he could do was honor him a little.
Other than that the other stuff was just odds and ends really. A few grenades hung in the armory that looked odd to anyone from this region. The kid also had a laptop charging on a fold out table next to the workbench he used to load and maintain his weapons. Thing was a little scuffed and burned, but the lights on it flickered like they should. There was door that lead towards the fermenting tanks. In the room was a little bobbing creature, about the same shape as a Comma, with a bright blue tail and a black head with beady blue eyes. Top of its head had three red marks down it, the middle one the largest. It floated over to Simon, looking quizzically at him.
"Welcome to my workshop, Simon and this is a Squirt. This one is harmless, but some can be rather ornery. Anything you have a question about?"
The kid also had a big ol' chest against the wall. He kept the fragments of half our world there.
Action
He turns to look up at the Kid, though his vision is still adjusting to the light of the room. There's something muddy and unfocused about him in Simon's eyes.
"I don't have any questions, not yet.. But I would like to look at these artifacts of yours, first!"
He brushes past the Squirt, patting it lightly on the head. He spends plenty of time ghosting around the workshop, giving each object a proper look before moving on to the next. He has the sense to never touch anything, though he does move around a few of the pieces to get a better view. He can understand the purposes and meanings behind some of them, despite not being able to read the language. The armor, weapons, even the shrine to Pyth... He can use his knowledge of various cultures to make educated guesses, but there's still a gaping hole. Something keeps these objects from looking exactly like anything he's seen before, but he can trust their authenticity.
"I must admit, I was a little skeptical about where you said you'd come from! I sometimes forget that not everyone in Venture City is from Earth, like aliens and-" Simon is cut off in mid-ramble as he turns to look over at the Kid.
His face pales to an icy blue, almost like he's seen a ghost.
And really he has, though not in a traditional way. The Kid is surrounded by a cloud of ashes that seem to be breaking off of him, disintegrating into the air rather than coating the floor. In the billows he can sometimes make out the shapes of faces, figures, and animals that break apart into nothing. Simon had nearly forgotten that Caeldonia didn't really exist anymore, and that this small collection contained the last remnants of The Kid's home.
He takes off his glasses and wipes at his face. The ashes are making his eyes burn.
"I- I'm sorry for your loss. That must have been rough.", he mutters.
Action
He takes a moment to go to the stool near the bench. He had let him explore around some, but putting it that way and the way he looked kind of made a lot of what he had made peace with boil up again. I know the weight of it all could hit like a ton of bricks. He just sat there, not knowing Simon was seeing the ghosts the four of us carried.
"I honestly do not know how I survived. I slept through the entire... calamity. That is what gets me the most. I woke up. Floating in space on what was left of what I spent half my life working on. Then I had to destroy the wall."
The kid goes silent after that, putting his hands together. He just looks down, trying to take a moment to put it together.
"But I am not the only one left. I am just the only one in Venture City. The others are using our escape... island to explore this world. I have mostly made peace with everything, it is just a bit heavy to take when loaded back on."
Action
"I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to bring up the past so suddenly like this."
A moment of silence. He looks up and the ashes are still there, puttering away.
"I'm really glad that you and the others made it out ok. I'm sure that it must be hard to get situated in a new place, but.. you won't be alone."
"I can help you figure some things out, technological or otherwise. I used to study this world's cultures, so I can even explain things in that regard..."
Re: Action
"Thank you for that. Still learning electronics. We had something similar in Caeldonia, but its rules were different and we had just started to tap its power. We mostly used it to power gates, weapons, and lights. That is all gone now though. Maybe not forever, but at least for now. Maybe we could work on the laptop and take our minds off the serious things? No idea what I am doing with it."
Action
He gets up and moves over to the laptop. "Have you connected to the internet yet?"
Re: Action
"What is an Internet?"
Action
"The internet is sort of like an invisible digital web connecting all computers together!", he says.
"Information can be transmitted from one computer to another, sort of like our Omega watches. And like the watches; people can share photographs, written messages, videos... whatever they want! It's available to everyone, and it has information on everything! Well, sort of everything. And it's all organized into different websites so you can find them more easily."
He pulls up a search engine and turns to the Kid. "Go on, type something in and see what you find!"
