I swear you have the worst timing for a watch.

[Ben points accusingly at the green-and-black watch on his wrist whose face is currently red. As much as he'd like to help with the search for the transmitter Dr. Devious announced, right now getting a handle on his new alien powers ranks a little higher. He's not going to be very effective if he can't control his transformations.]

[Too bad the stupid alien watch likes trolling him.]

[So here he is on the roof of a building, the rooftop access door locked, and he's waiting for the watch to recharge to see if it'll be kind enough to give him something that can fly off of this thing.]

[With nothing to do but wait, he sits on the parapet, chin in his hand and thoroughly annoyed with the world.]

"She got a name?"

Really, he should try and reassure her that he's actually mentally stable...okay, as mentally stable as a guy who now has the power to transform into aliens can be but whatever. However, his mouth had decided to develop a mind of its own and ignore Ben's brain.

Were she aware of these analogies, she'd probably say that doesn't sound very stable, a separate part of your body developing a brain and all that. But she's not aware.

"I'm working on it, but she vetoed Power Wing so I'm not really sure what else would work."

So this is what comes out of her mouth instead.

"Kiiiinda with the horse on that one."

Because a sentient horse? Why not? It was Venture City after all. Not to mention Ben himself could do things most people would think weren't possible thanks to the crazy troll watch.

"She needs something superheroic just like your name if she's going to go into battle with you. A noble steed like her needs an equally-noble name."

He was already wracking his brain, trying to think of one. It was what he considered to be the most fun about the watch: Naming the things he turned into.

"What's your superhero alias? I don't think I've seen you before."

[pega_pony_princess]

"I'm Princess Pegasus!"

Yes. Really.

"...What?"

No, really. What?! What kind of superhero name was that?!

[pega_pony_princess]

"I'm a princess and a Pegasus Knight, so I just put them together!"

It is apparently an incredibly straightforward one.

[omnitrixter]

"...Okay. I...guess that works. 'Princess Pegasus' it is."

He looked over at the poor horse, suddenly feeling like he should pat it on the shoulder and go "there, there".

"Um...she can decide on what name she likes best right? I've got a few possible ideas if she wants to hear 'em."

[pega_pony_princess]

"Ooo, that sounds cool - WAIT NO."

AAA WHAT SHE'S SHOUTING WHY IS SHE SHOUTING

"This conversation is supposed to be about you! YOU SHOULDN'T THROW YOUR LIFE AWAY."

Ben held up his hands defensively. (Wow, you're loud.)

"Yeah about that, I wasn't planning on jumping." He grinned. "I came up here to see the view and, well, kinda...sorta...got locked out."

[pega_pony_princess]

Pause.

"Really? Huh."

She appears to be thinking about something.

"...but if you live here, shouldn't you have a key or something?"

[omnitrixter]

"I don't actually live here." And rubbing the back of his neck. "It's just some place my parents were thinking about maybe moving to someday."

Not a lie per se. That had been the case...back when they first moved to Venture City ten years ago.

At least his left eye isn't twitching up a storm.

Princess Pegasus goes through this chain of logic very carefully.

"On the off chance that your parents...might move here, someday, you...broke in here, climbed to the roof to admire the view without informing anyone, and got...locked out."

Sudden grin.

"Man, I know what that's like!"

[Momentary sweating bullets and thank goodness she bought it!]

[He gives a self-depreciating laugh.] When you put it like that, it sound super-dumb. I was just hoping to get a look at what the view was like.

[pega_pony_princess]

"Well, let's get you down from here, citizen! Here, you can just kind of...scootch up behind me..."

Shifting a bit so Ben can clamber onto the pegasus.

"Oh, but be careful - she bites!"

Wooooow, why did I switch to action tags for that last bit? /facepalm

Ben looked warily at the pegasus. (Did he have any leftover smells from his alien forms? Here was hoping not...) "C'mon, you wouldn't want to bite me. I'm gonna help you come up with a cool name."

He struggled to get up behind...Princess Pegasus (that name...he was never going to get over it). He'd never so much as ridden a pony ride, and she wanted him to climb up on her magic flying horse? Really?

Really.

As Ben climbs up, the pegasus neighs, and Princess Pegasus frowns in response.

"Ugh, sorry about her. You know how it is with pegasi and males, right?"

[omnitrixter]

Ben finally managed to get on behind the girl, leaning forward a bit to catch a glimpse of her face.

"No, not really. Why?"

[pega_pony_princess]

Up close, it becomes slightly more obvious that her mask was made for someone else entirely, as it doesn't quite fit right.

"Apparently they just hate the way you all smell?"

[omnitrixter]

Note to self: When you get a mask, make sure it fits.

"Soooo what does she do when there's a guy around?"

And how badly should he be worried?

[pega_pony_princess]

"Like I said, she bites! Just don't go near her mouth and it should be fine!"

[omnitrixter]

"So she's not gonna buck me off or anything...right?"

[pega_pony_princess]

"'Course not! It's PERFECTLY SAFE, citizen!"

So safe, in fact, that they are already at ground level. People are staring at the pegasus, even.

[omnitrixter]

Sighing in relief, Ben carefully slid off the horse.

"Thanks. I appreciate it." He grinned at the pegasus. "You, too...uh...how does 'Sky Dancer' sound?"

Because, well, it had to sound girly to go with "Princess Pegasus" (still couldn't get over that), but it had to sound cool, too.

[pega_pony_princess]

'Sky Dancer' nickers happily, causing Princess Pegasus to grin under her mask.

"Ooo, we've got a keeper! Thanks!"

[omnitrixter]

"No problem." Ben's grin widened at the horse and rider's approval. "Thanks again for both you guys' help."
