A little here, a little there
[ACTION 1; NEAR CLINKERS -- FOR JOJI]
[This seemed like the right place all right. The nice thing is that he doesn't have to lie to Kaede anymore about where he's going, although she does fuss over him a bit now. He's still not sure what this is going to entail; he knows he's basically fighting against nature, or what amounts to it in regards to supers. But if he can just stretch things a few more years, that's all he can ask for. And maybe after that, stick with consulting? Who knows.
He wonders how he'll know who he's meeting. Then again, it's not like there's that many people around here.]
[ACTION 2; BACK AT OMEGABASE]
[Once THAT errand was taken care of, all that remained was the matter of meeting his new, er... student? Ward? He's not sure what you call it. Is he just trying to make sure the kid doesn't try to break open any more zoos? He wonders.
He also yawns. Hey, he's been running around today, give him a break.]

So where is this legendary Wild Tiger at anyway? Care to approach him, because he's not paying any attention! Heck, by the time Kotetsu even notices him he's grooming himself.
Re: 2
He walks up behind the cat and quickly -- LOUDLY -- clears his throat.
no subject
He flinches, turning his eyes up to the man and straightens himself, jumping to his feet and sitting down, as if at attention. Yessir?
And probably the hammiest, yet clearly nervous smiles one can make with a jaw like his.
"Oh. Um. Hi. Sorry I'm late?"
no subject
no subject
Yeah, he gets it, but so far he really hasn't gotten anyone killed!
"I know! But I figured as long as I don't go goofing off on the job everything would be fine."
There were those who showed off too much, but Shadow often treated it like a hunt, but in translation, viewing him at work he too often seemed to be playing than actually using his powers and skills efficiently.
no subject
Says the guy who went solo for a while when the Alpha Pals broke up. Then again, there were a few times he could've used some backup, much as he hated to admit it.
no subject
But he then paying attention to your teammates and respecting them were sort of the same thing, right? Was that what he was going for? Must be.
"Okay. Yes sir." He nods, straightening himself a bit but turning his eyes away once again.
no subject
Okay, so he'd be doing it in his street clothes and mask. He's still waiting for the suit, okay?
no subject
"You bet!" The thing he came here for. Something fun!
no subject
"Okay! We're heading to the Soho area for now. Lotta crime, but usually kinda petty stuff. That's a good start, I think! Let's go!" He begins to jog towards the train back to the city. You have to wonder how a guy who's supposed to be so renowned as a hero can jog so dorkily.
no subject
The response is a light rumble as he takes off after Kotetsu in a light trot. He didn't actually notice how goofy the gait was, as it wasn't really something that really caught his attention. Were Kotetsu to run with a limp, however, that would be hard not to notice.
"How fast can you run anyway?" Faster than a real tiger?
no subject
He clears his throat. "A minute." He hopes that this guy doesn't know too much about him so he knows how much that's different from his official profile. "Then I gotta wait an hour."
no subject
"How do you make it work though? What if there's a guy who's got super defenses and can take a punch from you for more than a minute?" Well, wait. Kotetsu is extremely strong even with the limits, right? Was there anyone who could actually stand against him?
no subject
A good question. Hell, sometimes five minutes had been barely enough. Thankfully, it's a question Kotetsu's had some time to ponder. The reduction of strength had given him some time to flex his mental muscles -- although he'd still run off a short pier on accident if he was in a rush. So it goes.
"That just means you gotta figure out non-muscle ways to soften them up before! You can do a heck of a lot in a minute, but only if you time that minute perfectly!" He gives a thumbs up. It's probably for the best he doesn't know Shadow's exact thoughts about him; the lion would probably find it a heck of a letdown to know just how close to baseline he was without the power.
The two get on the train. "Anyway, brute force can't solve everything, you know. Sometimes you gotta actually think things through." As much as he hated to admit it.
no subject
No wonder he had been retired. Following Kotetsu onto the train, he twitches his tail at the 'think things through.' Oh yeah, he's been told that about a million times in the last few months.
"Brute force doesn't even really work against guns sometimes. So even against normal people it can be tough. But I think I have a leg up on that."
no subject
"Well to be more frank, you got four legs up on that!" He yuks it up at his own bad joke. "Sorry, sorry, couldn't resist. Anyway, you just gotta learn how to gauge the situation, you know? At least as much as to know what your priorities are." Kotetsu ALWAYS knows HIS priorities: saving people. Criminals are secondary to that.
The train lurches and begins to move to take them back to the mainland.
no subject
That and he has a small problem with making terrible judgement calls.
no subject
"That's the most important thing you gotta know about being a hero! You have one chief priority, and one only!"
He raises a finger dramatically. "You've got to protect people over anything else! Even if it means letting a criminal get away for the time being, saving lives should always be your first impulse!"
no subject
Probably explains his "get the badguy" frame of mind.
no subject
"There's ALWAYS time to get the bad guy again -- but there's not always time to keep an innocent life from being lost!" He nods sagely. "And what good are we if we're not preventing someone's life from being lost?"
The train slowly pulls into the station on the other side. Kotetsu gets up. "Anyway, ready to go?"

He could not do that by ignoring his talents in creating certain types of suits.
It does take him a few more minutes to show up at the meeting spot. He drove there, his motorcycle a dull silver bullet that looks almost like most other bikes built for speed, though the engine hinted at something more. Joji parked and got off, switching his sunglasses for a different set as he walked over. ]
I take it you are Wild Tiger? [ There was a slight accent, almost Japanese in nature. ]
Re: 1
That'd be me. You the guy I'm waiting for?
no subject
This armor you wished for, did you have a certain color in mind?
no subject
Geez, I dunno. Whatever looks good, I guess. It's tempting to just stick with my old blue and black scheme, but I guess that's kinda lousy if I'm basically starting fresh, huh?
no subject
[ not that he had control over the main colors. Joji sometimes thought it was something inside of Tsukasa that caused such a change in colors from the more conservative ones he wanted to use. ]
I think new colors for a new role would fit, yes?
no subject
[Why does it feel like he's trying to compensate for something?]
So, when did you want the demo?
no subject
[Joji waved at their surroundings, smiling a little.]
Go nuts.
no subject
Oh! See that huge pile of rebar over there?
no subject
[ he switches the sensors on and has them set to record. later on, he would use the information to work on a suit build. ]
no subject
Right.
[He walks over to it, stretching his arms, and tilting his head from shoulder to shoulder to get the cricks out. He closes his eyes for a moment, and he begins to glow a noticeable blue color before he reaches over and picks up all the rebar with one hand.]
How's THAT?
[Sensor readings will be astronomical; Kotetsu has literally multiplied his inherent physical capabilities by a hundred.]
no subject
Not bad. You were saying such a power lasts for five minutes save for you?
no subject
I don't really know how many other people have something quite like it. But yeah, when I was younger it lasted for a full five minutes. But the length of time started getting shorter and shorter a couple years back, which is why I tried to retire for a while.
[He puts the rebar back down to make sure he's not still holding it when the power times out.]
Yeah, okay, a minute is enough in a pinch, but compared to the other guys, that means I'm pretty useless for most of the rest of the time, you know? It'd be nice to find a way to be more, uh, super again, even if just a little.
[As he speaks, the glow kicks out. Seems he wasn't kidding about the short time frame.]
no subject
I wouldn't call you useless since you do have a lifetime of skills to call upon. [ Joji took out a thin clear card from an inner pocket of his jacket and tapped on the mini-keyboard embedded on it. ] But I can understand that you need to be in the middle of battle instead of directing it, right?
no subject
Could be. Could just be burnout. Hard to say. All I know is that it's happening and I gotta deal. Still, with the kinda coo-coo crazy stuff that goes on around here, it's better to have some sorta gimmick than nothing. We can't all be that Batman guy we hear about.
Yeah! Yeah, that's it! I can't just stand by while people are in trouble! I gotta be in the middle of it!
no subject
[ the information he had entered was bringing up some interesting results on his little card key. Joji nodded to himself, noting the various levels and how to rig it up so Tiger can use some extra power. ]
It looks like this would be easy enough... with the right elements. It may take me a couple of weeks to gather everything together and build it. Does that bother you?
no subject
Well... okay, that's A gimmick. I meant like a gimmick power or... gah, you know what I mean!
[Blargh.]
Yeah, yeah that's fine. Been going this long without something like that, a little longer won't hurt. Just looking forward to whatever you manage to pen up.
no subject
[there might be a hint of a smile, just a hint like he was just teasing a little.]
Hopefully you will like it. I think it will also assemble itself so you won't need to spend time trying to get in and out of it.
