Episode 4: Blast from the Past! Venture City Invasion!
On a sunny Saturday morning, it's finally visible - high above Venture City, the descending asteroid. However, it's doing something no real asteroid would do - it's slowing down.
As the space rock comes to a halt, looking like a second moon over the city, several holographic screens emerge from it, all showing the same face.
"Greetings, Earth mammals! A new order is at hand!"
"Sixty six million years ago, a meteor fell, ending the age of my people on this planet. However, not all of us were lost! Thanks to mysterious alien technology found by my ancestors, we were able to escape from Earth before the disaster heralded the rise of your pitiful kind. At long last, with the help of the human Devious, we have found the lost homeworld once more! And so we strike against those that replaced us - we, the true masters of Earth, have returned! And I, Baron Von Tyrannosaur, shall be your new ruler!"
With that, smaller pods start to break off from the dinosaur mothership. As they hit ground (or in some cases, before then), they break open, revealing their cargo - dinosaurs! Some right out of the history books, some of them robots, and some of them somewhere in between!
As Protector watches from deep within the Omegabase, he gives the order. Venture City is under attack. Our time is now.
Calling all Omegafriends!
[[OOC: There will be three dedicated threads for the meteor team: Launch, Breach, and Showdown with Baron Von Tyrannosaur. Once these stubs are up, anyone going on the mission is free to post in them (maximum 8 heroes), and anyone else can reply directly to this post with their actions throughout the city - fighting dinosaurs, rescuing civilians, or even taking advantage of the confusion to commit a few crimes.
Most of the dinosaurs are non-intelligent, aside from the Baron and his immediate underlings. If you want us to NPC some dinosaurs, for a thread other than the last one, drop us a line. Good luck!]]

(even if she's kind of squealing on the inside because DINOSAURS ARE YOU KIDDING THIS IS AMAZING)
The moment she's back on solid ground at street level, Shooter turns to Sparkling Wing -- and despite her determined expression, there's a little glitter of something like glee and excitement in her eyes. ]
H--hey! What kind of powers do you have? If we team up, we can take out more of them!

...wow she's really awesome, barring the whole clothing deal.]
Shields!
[Said as she flings a set of them like lethal frisbees, and they arc through the air before hitting a nearby dinosaur with a massive CLANG. She turns back to grin at Shooter, but when she notices the arm cannon, she pauses briefly, brows furrowed.]
Say, how heavy is that thing?
[She could use a shield to lift Shooter into the air, but she's never really tested to see how much weight her shields can withstand...]

that's actually a really cool way of using those, excuse shooter if she gawks for a second. And then snaps out of it because, yes, dinosaurs -- just in time for one of them to ccome snapping in her direction and receive a hastily delivered bolt from the cannon to its face. ]
This thing? I'm not sure--! It's pretty light to me, but I think that's just because I'm strong enough to--
[ AND THERE COMES ANOTHER ONE, and she swings the cannon like a bat, smacking the dinosaur in the face with a sickening crunch and it slumps to the ground. ]

Sparkling Wing pauses for a moment, then conjures up a wing shaped shield large enough for Shooter to stand on.]
Can't promise I can do it for long, but hop on. You can use your cannon thingy to attack from above, while I take out the ones on the ground!
[Another dinosaur charges forward, and Sparkling Wing grits her teeth, sending out a shield again. She flings it with the same power behind it, but it's noticably smaller - must be the payoff for conjuring a bigger one for Shooter.]

[ okay maybe now is not the time to rhapsodise about colours and pretty things there are dinosaurs and they need taking down.
She hops up onto the shield, spreading her feet wide to keep herself balanced and then swings her cannon, keeping a careful eye around her -- to take out any dinosaurs that stray too close and most especially any that look as if they're making a beeline for Sparkling Wing. ]
