[Ben's browsing a bit before reserving his copy of the game. All sorts of cool stuff, but being a superhero, he probably won't find the time to play much of them. Still, he's available for all sorts of geekery until the next disaster strikes.]

You're getting stickers and lunch out of me. This game better be worth it.

[It's not the eye twitching he notices, he's not even looking at his face, his attention is turned briefly to the price tags. What he does pick up on is the smell. Humans tend to smell funny when they're under stress, or when they're lying. He turns his head back towards Ben, his emerald eyes judging him silently. He says nothing but his expressions says it all.

He doesn't like to be lied to.

Those eyes are like daggers, Ben. And he's on to you. He isn't even sure what he's on to.]

So, um, what were you thinking about for lunch?

[And you saved yourself, Ben. He diverts his attention towards Ben and grins.]

[He heads right over over to the counter and drops a few twenties to pay for his game.]

[Ben waits for the cashier to ring up Shadow before he sets his own stuff down.]

Well, there's Burger Shack, Nasty Burger, and Mr. Smoothy's. Plus there's that pizza place whose name I can never remember.

What's Mr. Smoothies? Let's just go to the burger place. I'm more of a milk shake kinda cat anyway.

What's Mister...? Okay, just for that, that's where we're going. It's a crime that you don't know about Mr. Smoothy's.

Wha...What? Seriously Ben, you're going to try to make me sick. Lions eat meat, not rabbit food!

Dude, it's Mr. Smoothy's. They're the only place in town that serves stuff like lamb and sardine smoothies.

Smoothie magic. [Ben wiggles his fingers in a "spooky" way.]

And it's not bad for you. I mean, they don't usually serve the stuff raw, but they might if you put in a special request.

I'd rather just eat the ingredients then.

Are you sure we can't just go for a burger, because I thought a game was worth a decent meal, not a drink!

Dude...[Sad shake of the head. You poor deprived soul.] It's not just a drink. It's an entire meal in a cup!

Poison in a cup. [He is not convinced at all. You can drag him by the tail but you won't change is mind so easily! He wants meat!]

I'll make you a deal. Buy me a steak from the store, and I'll try the smoothie.

Fine, but it's not gonna be anything like prime rib, okay? My allowance wouldn't be able to afford it.

Eh, nah. Prime rib is only for special occasions. T-bones are cheap! If we play our cards right we might find a place nearby with a summer special.

[Ben pays for his stuff and goes to the door, holding it open for Shadow.]

[He nods, and takes the invitation to go out first, carrying his bag by hanging it off his lower canine.]

Yeah, but Mom and Dad don't have much in the way of a data plan. I have to wifi hop to be able to surf the web.
