Omegafriends, Episode 1: A Devious Deadline

It was a day like any other... but little did the Omegafriends know, disaster loomed on the horizon!

An Omeganet message cuts through the tranquil morning. On the other end, however, is no Omegafriend - it is none other than their sworn enemy, the genius scientist Dr. Devious!

"Greetings, Omegafools! I come to you bearing an ultimatum so simple that even your primitive brains should be able to comprehend it: If your precious Mayor doesn't surrender Venture City to me, then nothing awaits in the days to come save for doom and destruction! My latest creation has already been activated, and the means of Venture City's demise draws closer with each passing hour!"

"So which would you rather see: Venture City in ruins, or Venture City in control of the brilliant Dr. Devious? The choice is yours, fools!"

With a maniacal cackle, the transmission ends. Shortly afterwards, another one, this time from Protector, leader of the Omegafriends:




"It looks like Dr. Devious is up to her old diabolical tricks again! I don't know what she's planning, but we all need to be extra vigilant until we figure it out. No doubt another one of her crazy inventions is hidden somewhere in Venture City... I just hope we can find it before it's too late."

"Remember, so long as heroes stand together against evil, there is always hope. Protector out!"

[Drake Mallard was enjoying the privilege of sleeping in on a Saturday morning, like most weekday wage slaves. When his Omegawatch went off on his bedside table in the middle of a particularly nice dream of home, he rolled over and hit what he thought was snooze.

All it did was turn the video off, and the volume up. With a dismayed grunt, he rolled over and glared at it, hoping to intimidate it into being quiet. ...It didn't work.]

The rest of you can stand. I, for the next few hours, at least, am going to remain lying down. [With that, he rolled back over, jammed his pillow over his head, and attempted to go back to sleep.]

Razz'm frazz'r gffhglh rmmm superheroes. Not even a member and they wake me up for some call of justice hooey. No. Thank you. Talk to me when the sun goes down.

[Velasquez is appearing in her human-looking form, her ears pressed to her face. She's actually still reading her book when she's talking.]

Another plan? I hope it is done with quickly - though with the florish I am used to by the Omegafriends.

...Ah. If any heroes have not met me, my name is Velasquez. I normally stay in the base, though I enjoy seeing whatever tales are spun from your heroics. I hope we can become friends.

[Her voice trails off in timid-ness, as she gives a slight whine. Do they even know what's going to happen? Could this be a bad ending? Or will the tales go as normal, and will good prevail once more?]

Good. Too often, a hero begins by trying to reject this story, and thus loses something important to them. It's... tragic.

[Now that might be a plot in the making. Velasquez then shifts the camera, as she's putting it down.

Um, I don't like to talk about it much, and I just joined the Omegafriends so I don't wanna put anybody off working with me... maybe some other time?

[She chalks this one up as one of the folks who wasn't there for her, uh, one big moment in "supervillainy."]

The Hunter had two jobs. To track down this villain and make use of the contract being posted by this "Slade" individual. She seemed like the perfect target for this project and Samus Aran would enjoy fixing something for once instead of blowing up everything. First key though was finding this device before everyone else. She also wasn't one to sit around in her ship, trying to assist the auto repair.

Her ship itself was stuck deep in the woods, so pretty easy. She started out nice and early to start looking for the device. Along with anyone who might try to stop her. First step to finding something like that? Scan Visor absolutely everything to see if details of the device could be found. That said she wished she had a repair competent for her X-Ray visor now. Actually...

[ technically he wasn't that close of an ally of the omegafriends. technically he shouldn't have access to their network but after a month of watching the super-powered people of this world fight, he decided to hack into the system just to keep an eye on them. who knew? he might be lucky and find a kamen rider who hadn't realized their real purpose and instead thinking they were an omegafriend.
meanwhile, he sometimes just responses to interesting things, sometimes just posts clues, and most often remains quiet. but get his hands near a piece of other world tech? this was something he was interested in. ]

"These are the coordinates. I will meet you there." The hunter replied, half expecting a trap. Coordinates were somewhere in the wilderness around venture city.

Samus was waiting for the person who had indicated interest. Though she wasn't waiting on the ground but up in a tree, sitting on a large, thicker branch. She was pretty weighty in the suit, so she knew better than to try something smaller.

He rode his bike partway there before dismounting and walking the rest of the way on foot. There was no obvious signs of weapons on him, and the only thing that might be big enough to carry a weapon was the messenger bag slung over his shoulder. That did not prove the case as he reached the area, took a look around and then found a place to sit and open the bag up. Instead of weapons, there were papers, which he flipped through until reaching a certain page. Pulling out a notebook, he started copying the information into the notebook.

Samus leaps down from above, landing heavily. She looks over at the man who has brought nothing but papers with him. She wasn't sure what help he could be considering she needed professional tools to handle repair details. She walked over to him before tapping a few buttons on her arm cannon before pulling her hand away. "Are you here to help me repair my X-Ray visor?" she asked.

He looked up, squinted a little and then nodded. The papers were shuffled together and shoved into the bag and the bag itself was closed before he stood up.

"Yes," he replied, his voice having a slight Japanese accent. "I suppose I am not what you expected."

"No," Was all the response he got. She adjusted on her feet before looking him over. She just seemed to stare at him for a while.

Then she spoke again, "Regardless, Creating an X-Ray sonar-esque system is rather complicated, but I mostly was going to appreciate if you had the technical talents to get some pieces in working order for me. You have technical talents and not just paper?"

"I have technical skills, yes. The paperwork is just something to pass the time."

Why show off? He knew he was skilled and he knew he can break a few rules of space/time with his skills. He just never understood why he would need to show off those skills. That was what got him involved in the mess back home.

"Well, figured you would bring tools if we were going to work on some equipment. Though to be honest I looked over all the missing pieces and I think I'm going to need a replacement more than anything. Earth is advanced enough for directional X-Rays correct? We'll need to acquire one of those machines. I can find the part I need from there I think."

Yes, the human has no idea of Earth's tech level.

"I always have my tools on me." Yes, there was a hint of an arrogant smile as he replied, a tilt of his head that just says 'of course'. What kind of technician would he be if he didn't have his tools on hand? They just weren't in the same field as he was.

But at the mentioning of what the Hunter needed, he frowned, tapping his fingers against his bottom lip. That might be a little bit of a challenge if they were to rely on this world's tech.

"They have them, however you are talking about expensive tech that is usually not common on this world. It can be found, but to get the parts you need, you may have to resort to stealing unless you can find some way to pay for the entire system.

Or you know someone who can build something similar."
