I hope those of you who are participating in that little hunt enjoy yourselves, and those betting on the Not-so-Good Doctor's latest schemes will find the die fall in their favor.

I am simply broadcasting a reminder of my services for both attire and items of a magical nature that are available exclusively to this most discerning of clientele in both style and substance. Naturally it is quite discreet, and available for quite a reasonable price.

[The Silver Narcissus bows extravagantly, with a sweep of his arms]

[Action, Silver Narcissu - open to all]

[The Silver Narcissu house has normal operating hours for it's civilian clientele, but it's private consultations and bad guy tailoring is open for almost twenty-four hours a day, as well as the pick ups for any magical doo-hickeys that he has available.

While his association with villains are known, he's always careful to keep his illegal magical dealings hidden. And frankly, one can't arrest a person for giving a bad guy a pair of pants - that's just silly. Whether someone comes in for thread for a party or picking things of a dubious nature, Kuja plays the role of the attentive manager to the hilt]

Welcome - welcome, how might I best help you today?

[Entering the base is...something none of you have ever seen before. It looks to be some kind of robot at about human height.

Suddenly, before your eyes, the color retreats from the armor, leaving it in shades of gray. The eyes also dim, just seconds before the helmet comes off and Athrun Zala shows his face.

You may have seen him around prior to this. He hasn't been a superhero yet, instead supporting the group through his computer programming skills and training his physical abilities. But it looks like those days might be over.]

Ahh... It's nice to expose myself to fresh air again after all of that. I'll have to figure out something to do about this, though.

[audio post]

Ah... So, in a competitive system where each individual begins with the same opportunities and outcome is influenced only by skill and motivation to succeed - but success is necessarily attained at the expense of others - what characteristics would disqualify an individual from competing altogether?

I ask out of curiosity, as the conditions of a certain ongoing contest seem to parallel those of the world at large. People tend to characterize those who fail to participate in society as lazy or degenerate, but in reality it is the collective that decides whether an individual may compete - and that decision generally has little to do with ability.

My hypothesis is that human beings are not actually comfortable with participating in such a system, but must be convinced and trained to do so. Rejecting those who, for whatever reason, do not fit the competitive model is part of that process.

[ action post, later, at the Gold Mill ]

Sherri didn't go much for dancing, but he did enjoy orchestras and jazz music. More than that, the jazz club was a good place to sit and think about recent events with just the right amount of distraction. In any case, the atmosphere seems perfect for slightly-melancholy contemplation and being mysterious while wearing a snazzy suit. If anyone approaches him they will find that he is quite open to company, though.

[ less mundane action post, even later, anywhere in the city ]

Someone might have taken that audio post as an invitation - or perhaps they just really wanted to offer some intellectual criticism in the form of punching. Hopefully they won't forget to keep their crit (re)constructive!

[An image appears onscreen of a girl wearing a bowl on her head. No, seriously. Some older members of the Omegafriends might recognize her, actually, if they were involved in helping take down a bizarre incident several months back involving someone who could grown and shrink things at random.]

Hi! I'm Shi -- er, I'm Inchling Girl! I was wondering if anybody wanted to go out with me to try and find that device Dr. Devious left around! I bet she hid it somewhere super important, so I'm gonna go to the City Hall and check out the nooks and crannies! ...Um, unless someone else has a better idea, I mean. It sounds good to ME...

[She shakes her head. Confidence, Shinmyoumaru! You're a princess after all! Technically.]

Anyway, who wants to help?

Well, it's about that time again. I can safely say that we've checked all the boxes, crossed all the Ts and locked down the K-2 test rocket until tomorrow morning when we'll resume the countdown. It's been a hectic Monday after the weekend, making sure everything still worked and getting it ready for fueling tomorrow, but our ducks are all in a row.

It's going to be an important test tomorrow, even if the rocket in question is small. K-2 is going to test the new Mainsail engine, a reaction control system, an autopilot, a new capsule's basic re-entry characteristics, and even our new escape tower. Though with luck, the last one won't be needed until stage separation to pull the capsule away from the rocket.

We're going to fly a banana shaped course-first away from town, then curving back and slightly north of the city limits to drop all the debris into some unoccupied ocean. Our recovery ship and helicopters will be standing by-if you stand on one of the taller towers downtown, you should be able to watch the entire operation, from launch to splashdown, in less than 15 minutes start to finish, tomorrow afternoon. We've got three parachutes for touchdown, and can actually land safely with two-in theory. There's a lot of theory here, and normally we would test it all separately. But I think that an all-up test will let us knock over a lot of targets at once, and I do have confidence in the stuff our organization has put together.

I'll be watching events from the blockhouse and the control center-but who knows, maybe if everything goes right, I can talk Gene into letting me fly the next one at the end of the month if this goes according to plan. Of course, that depends on getting Bill and Bob to go along with it, and Bob won't OK me without an absolutely perfect test. But I'm sure that's going to be a piece of cake after tomorrow.

[[OOC: Responses can be from people either turning up to watch the launch on Tuesday or logging on to leave either anonymous or public comments on the blog.]]
