[Hey kids, it's the second weekend in September! Do you know what that means? That means that for all students and seniors, this Saturday and Sunday, admittance to the Venture Spaceport is absolutely free! Come take a guided tour given by one of the astronauts or administrators, take a seat in a genuine authentic training mock-up of a space capsule, and maybe even look at the new rockets under construction, and the models of the plans for even bigger ones.

Of course, the whole complex is open to the rest of the public as well for a nominal fee, as is the on-site MUSEUM OF SPACE, which isn't affiliated with the big museum downtown but instead just contains a lot of space things on loan from other institutions. There's even a Boilerplate Apollo capsule and a real soyuez that carried a famous Canadian astronaut back to earth recently.

And the man of the enterprise? Oh, he's Everywhere today. He's in the astronaut 0-g training pool. He's in the vehicle assembly building. He's on the Vomit comet (Tickets are an extra 150 dollars, to experience 5 30 second bursts of real weightlessness.) And he's always got a big grin and seems pleased to see you, no matter who you are.]

Sooooo. I went and talked to Protector-and he told me that without his maps of the Omegabase, which he kept in the omegabase even he doesn't know where all the entrances of the base are. I mean, not all the phones in town are entrances, are they? Right?

...Guys, please tell me we aren't going to have to survey three thousand telephone booths. I don't want to have to do that.

Who: Doomkitty, and whoever wants to stop her (or help her)
When: Not long after Lady Blue kidnapped the Omegafriends base.
Where: Hero Plaza
What: Nobody else is going for that orb in the statue, so a new face decided to grab it.

In the middle of the night, a certain black cloaked figure is quickly shimmying up the statue and grabbing the orb. The next instant, the ball disappears into her cloak before she drops down off the statue to the grass; obviously intent on absconding the scene.

[So, yeah, somebody that's new in town decided to grab the orb and make off with it. Feel free to do whatever it takes to stop her. Thread-hopping is definitely ok and encouraged.]

a; omeganet video.

[There's a new superhero face that pops up onto the screen, all in light blues and whites with a simple mask on her face and dark, curled hair falling off screen. She looks a little uncertain, pulling some of her hair over her shoulder and finger-combing it for a moment before she speaks.]

This is a little embarrassing to ask, but-- I'm new to this whole Superhero business, does anyone have any pointers? I've not gotten in any real trouble yet, but I certainly don't want to cause more trouble when I'm supposed to be helping.

b; action! anywhere between the college of the arts and venture park.

[Out of her Super uniform, Hina is just dressed in a stylish light blue sundress with a white lace bolero and a tan sunhat, walking from class to the park with her sketchbook in her purse and her phone in her hand. She was texting her brother, more than likely, and possibly could have stood to be paying a bit more attention to where she was walking.]

Even with the recent rash of dinosaurs, vampires and reversed personalities, there was still crime to fight. Maybe even more crime than normal, with the reversal of good and evil in many of the young superheroes and villians. So when the need calls, Kerbal-X answers, jetpacking his way through the night sky like a hero of yore-the Rocketeer say, or some other fool fond of strapping a bomb to his back to fly.

From high above the city, he can look down on it-and with a link to the Omeganet and the police scanner in his helmet, he can search for crime reports. Or just look for crime. Or anyone of the Omegafriends in trouble.

Or if nothing's going on, he can sit on a skyscraper, and chat with someone using his radio.

So, it's well known that the Omeganetwork isn't the most secure place, though private communications and filters are a thing.

I'd just like to try to talk about if that's necessarily a bad thing. I'm just remembering a few incidents where villains having a reliable line to the heroes was actually a good thing, back in my Silversong days. It actually helped a few names reform, and of course sometimes there's those Enemy Of My Enemy situations can call in some help.

Also, it's just cheaper, and we've kept unauthorized people from getting into the Omegabase, so that's a good sign I think.

What do you guys think?

[Private to George Parley, backdated to Thursday the 12th.]

[Sonicheart's repair lab isn't entirely cleaned up by the time Parley has shown up. Far from it, actually; tools are strewn here and there, with more effort put into getting all the grease off the ground than getting things organized properly. Atop the center table - large enough for a person - are several different mechanical and electrical devices, including one police 'prop bomb' used for training bomb squads.]

Oh, uh, hi!

[ #1 - Yuri ]

[ Summer vacation! That's the best time of the year for a teenager, right? Sun. Fun. Free time! Yeah?

...

Unless you are Yuri Tsukikage, who on this day is spending a good chunk of that time at the library. Studying. One might find her there, or in transit coming and going, but either way... She is not exactly a person with the most booming social life.

That should maybe be rectified, but it certainly won't be under her own power.
]

[ #2 - Cure Moonlight ]

[ Some time after that, one might find Cure Moonlight at the Omegabase.

Study..ing...

Look, this has an applicable benefit - she's combing through databases for information on any and all actions taken by Skeletor's forces. It's not like she's... overly focused on this or anything, but well.

Okay, yeah. She is.

She's also not really paying much attention to anyone around her.

The whole social thing kind of goes.... both ways.

[A few weeks ago, there was a message sent to the Omegabase from Mystero, Master of the Mind, informing them that he was sending his daughter to Venture City to train with the Omegafriends in hopes of developing her as of yet dormant psychic powers.

Well, she's here.]

So, I guess Mystero told you what I'm doing here. What with Dr. Devious and the confusion of flying half way around the planet, I never really heard who agreed to help out.

I'm already getting antsy here. Any learnable skills you've got, I'll take a shot at learning them. If you're willing to teach them, that is.

Well, it's about that time again. I can safely say that we've checked all the boxes, crossed all the Ts and locked down the K-2 test rocket until tomorrow morning when we'll resume the countdown. It's been a hectic Monday after the weekend, making sure everything still worked and getting it ready for fueling tomorrow, but our ducks are all in a row.

It's going to be an important test tomorrow, even if the rocket in question is small. K-2 is going to test the new Mainsail engine, a reaction control system, an autopilot, a new capsule's basic re-entry characteristics, and even our new escape tower. Though with luck, the last one won't be needed until stage separation to pull the capsule away from the rocket.

We're going to fly a banana shaped course-first away from town, then curving back and slightly north of the city limits to drop all the debris into some unoccupied ocean. Our recovery ship and helicopters will be standing by-if you stand on one of the taller towers downtown, you should be able to watch the entire operation, from launch to splashdown, in less than 15 minutes start to finish, tomorrow afternoon. We've got three parachutes for touchdown, and can actually land safely with two-in theory. There's a lot of theory here, and normally we would test it all separately. But I think that an all-up test will let us knock over a lot of targets at once, and I do have confidence in the stuff our organization has put together.

I'll be watching events from the blockhouse and the control center-but who knows, maybe if everything goes right, I can talk Gene into letting me fly the next one at the end of the month if this goes according to plan. Of course, that depends on getting Bill and Bob to go along with it, and Bob won't OK me without an absolutely perfect test. But I'm sure that's going to be a piece of cake after tomorrow.

[[OOC: Responses can be from people either turning up to watch the launch on Tuesday or logging on to leave either anonymous or public comments on the blog.]]

[Appearing on the Omeganet for the first time, shortly after her first victory: A ridiculous magical girl!]

Is this real? IT'S REAL! A real Omegawatch, and it's mine! I'm an Omegafriend! This is so awesome!

Hello, Omegafriends, I'm Cure Marine! If you know Cure Blossom or Cure Moonlight, I'm their new team member! I'm gonna help out with the whole evil-defeating thing from now on!

[action]

[Later, barging into the Omegabase: The second-smallest Omegafriend on file! Probably!]

[You can just see the stars in them eyes.]

SO COOL.

So this is the Omegabase, huh? What kind of cool Omegastuff do we have hanging around here?

[Golden Tiger is not, by any means, a brilliant strategist. He does, on the other hand, have two years experience maneuvering around boardrooms, and that's taught him more than a few things. The first being that when an opportunity presents itself, you take it. So with the spandex squad all in a tizzy after Doctor Doofus's little song and dance, now's the perfect time to get out there and make a name for himself in this town.

It comes to the surprise of almost no one when a giant robot crab comes crashing through the wall of the Venture City Central Bank, trailed by a regular platoon of hired thugs. The Tiger himself is on the scene, of course, standing atop that crushing crustacean, arms folded. The room erupts in chaos. A few security guards try and rush the goons, but they're mowed down in seconds. Tiger just laughs and swishes his coat, letting the speakers in his mask carry his voice through the building.
]

Alright, nobody make a move! This here is a robbery. Take everything ya got and dump it all in the bags. Everything for the Golden Tiger!

[On cue, the thugs hold out a collection of burlap sacks, some of which have dollar signs painted on them. Need to shoot for authenticity here.]

Don't forget about those safety deposit boxes, too! C'mon people, let's hustle!

[One by one, the tellers, guards, and even some of the patrons step up and start to unload cold hard cash into the bags. So many supervillains swing by this place, they all know the procedure by now. Everything's going just as planned. If one of those rubes in tights showed up, everything would fall to pieces.

That'd just be awful, right?

Right.
